The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar, has been conferred with an award of Defence Project Management Advocate for 2024.
The award was conferred on the minister by the Higher Education Leadership and Policy Project, under the auspices of Independent Monitoring of Project Accountability, Compliance and Transparency, and Project Impact Review and Technical Evaluation Assistance, in commemoration of the celebration of 2024 International Project Management Day.
According to a statement made available to Saturday PUNCH on Friday, the organisation’s Lead Advocate and IMPACT/PIRTEA focal person, Ayo Thomas, highlighted the need to empower project teams at different levels of nation building by providing them with the necessary tools, resources and support to drive “meaningful, impactful, and sustainable transformation.”
He stated that the conferment was in recognition of the impact of advocating and promoting a team approach to operations among frontline security agencies and the military since the commencement of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
