Employees on the Institute of Agricultural Analysis and Coaching (IAR&T), Ibadan, staged a protest on Wednesday over the non-payment of their December and January salaries.

The demonstration, held throughout the institute’s premises, was attended by leaders and members of the Non-Tutorial Employees of Universities (NASU), the Senior Employees Affiliation of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Nationwide Affiliation of Tutorial Technologists (NAAT), and the Senior Employees Affiliation of Universities Educating Hospitals, Analysis Institutes, and Allied Establishments (SSAUTHRIAI).

Chatting with journalists, SSANU chairman, Comrade Agbaje Michael, acknowledged that the protest aimed to push the federal authorities to urgently tackle their wage considerations.

He mentioned: “Our protest is to let the administration know that we’re struggling and for them to expedite actions, though they instructed us they’ve written letters to the ministry however that’s not sufficient.”

In his comment, NASU chairman, Osadiya Adewumi lamented that employees on the Institute went on black Christmas and New 12 months on account of not paying their December and January salaries, including that there was no cash to purchase medication for individuals who are on medicine and their aged households among the many employees.
