The police in Edo State have rescued Elisha Jeremiah, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) hooked up to the Pressure Legal Investigation Division (FCID) in Abuja, who was kidnapped on January 29, 2025 whereas travelling to Anambra State

He was seized alongside Okhuesan-Ewohimi Highway in Edo with different passengers, together with 

Ayedele Ebenezer of Ogbidi Highway, Uromi and Useni Inusa. 

Edo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Moses Yamu, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) introduced this  on Tuesday evening.

Yamu stated: “Following the kidnap of the travellers, operatives of Ubiaja Divisional Police Headquarters, in a joint operations with different tactical groups, instantly went on the path of the abductors. 

“The Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, ordered extra deployment of Police Cellular Pressure personnel to make sure the rescue of the victims and arrest of the perpetrators. 

“The crew, performing on intelligence at present (February 4) at about 1530hrs, mobilised to the bushes round Ugbebor, in partnership with native hunters and vigilance members. This effort paid off, as the abductors deserted their victims and fled, after they sensed that the operatives had been closing in on them.”

The PPRO additionally assured that the command was dedicated in its resolve to rid Edo of all types of crime.
